When Spring came to Edenton this year, I walked the streets of our lovely town, relishing the beauty of all the flowers. And of course I took some pictures! Portraits

My portrait style can be unconventional at times. I often wonder why it is assumed that the front of someone's head should always be that part of them that should be in a portrait. Portraits, being captured memories, only grow stronger in time. And sometimes a portrait can become more powerful if it is a slice of someone within the world they share with others.

Architecture

Architectural photography has its own set of challenges: you need to be ever mindful of lighting and perspective. Lighting, especially, with the need to balance interior and exterior light sources, is important. To succeed, the photos must be truthful and alluring.

Christmas Snow

White Christmas came a day late, but when it came, it sure came. About 10 inches. A nice wet snow that the wind stuck to the sides of trees, stop signs – whatever it could find.

Christmastime Around Edenton

At Christmastime, Edenton and the surrounding area seems even more magical. Driving from Edenton down to Hertford and around the countryside brings many surprises - like the simple Christmas tree lights along the Hertford harbor. Taste of the Catskills, 2010

The Taste of the Catskills Festival is a family-friendly event that showcases the food, beer, and wine of the upstate New York Catskill Mountain region. The festival spotlights regional farmers, food producers, craftspeople, and musicians. I was asked to photograph the Festival, and this gallery shows some of the photos I took.
